KOMEKSIMAS FINED FOR MISLEADING ADVERTISING (2013-05-21)
On 21 May 2013, the Competition Council ( Konkurencijos taryba, KT) imposed a fine of LTL 24,800 (EUR ~ 7,183) on UAB KOMEKSIMAS for misleading advertising and ordered the undertaking to terminate the dissemination of the advertisement concerned.

KT CLEARS ACQUISITION OF JOINT CONTROL OVER BALTIC BICYCLE TRADE (2013-05-20)
On 16 May, the Competition Council ( Konkurencijos taryba, KT) cleared the notified transaction, under which Litcapital I acquired up to 56 per cent and ASGAARD A/S acquired up to 16.6 per cent of UAB Baltic Bicycle Trade shares, and both, together with other shareholders, acquired joint control over UAB Baltic Bicycle Trade.

COURT UPHOLDS THE FINE IMPOSED BY THE KT FOR IMPLEMENTING UNAUTHORISED MERGER IN THE PHARMACY SECTOR (2013-05-02)
On 25 April 2013, the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (SACL) upheld the 29 March 2012 Competition Council‘s ( Konkurencijos taryba, KT) decision to impose a fine of LTL 110,000 (approx. EUR 31,858) on Corporation of European Pharmaceutical Distributors N.V. (CEPD) for implementing a merger without the KT‘s authorisation.

CEMENT AND CONCRETE MANUFACTURERS MERGER WITHDRAWN AFTER KTS ASSESSMENT (2013-04-24)
The Competition Council ( Konkurencijos taryba, KT) informs that Concretus Materials, UAB ( Concretus Materials) has abandoned its intentions to acquire up to 51 per cent of AB Akmenės cementas shares, and, therefore, the KT has terminated further examination of the merger.

COURT AGREES WITH KT: KAZLŲ RŪDA MUNICIPALITY DID GRANT PRIVILEGES TO UAB LITESKO (2013-04-24)
On 15 April 2013, the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (SACL) upheld the 19 April 2012 Competition Council’s ( Konkurencijos taryba, KT) decision finding certain actions of the Kazlų Rūda municipality (Municipality) restrictive of competition. The SACL confirmed the KT’s conclusions that the Municipality had granted privileges to UAB Litesko and, thus, created different competitive conditions, since the Municipality had extended the contract for modernisation and renovation of heating infrastructure with UAB Litesko until 2030 without any competitive selection procedure and regardless of the tender provisions stating that the longest possible extension could be until 2025.

KT FINES UAB LUKOIL BALTIJA FOR IMPLEMENTING UNAUTHORISED MERGERS (2013-04-18)
The Competition Council of the Republic of Lithuania ( Konkurencijos taryba, KT) today has imposed a fine of LTL 1,177,600 (approx. EUR 341,057) on UAB Lukoil Baltija for implementing mergers without the KT’s authorisation and ordered the undertaking to terminate the infringement.
