KARINA KUČAIDZE-WENCEL HAS BEEN APPOINTED DEPUTY CHAIRWOMAN OF LITHUANIAN COMPETITION COUNCIL
The Chairwoman of the Competition Council, Jolanta Ivanauskienė, appointed Council Member Karina Kučaidze-Wencel as Deputy Chair effective January 15.
“I value Karina’s education and professional experience gained in Lithuania and the United Kingdom, as well as her significant contribution over the past four years in overseeing merger control and economic analysis, so I suggested that my colleague takes on the responsibilities of Deputy Chair of the Competition Council as well. I am very pleased that Karina has agreed to take on this role,“ – said J. Ivanauskienė.
The Law on Competition stipulates that the head of the competition authority appoints two Deputy Chairpersons. Currently, Competition Council Member Irma Urmonaitė also holds the position of Deputy Chair.
K. Kučaidze-Wencel became Deputy Chair after the former Deputy Chair Medeina Augustinavičienė completed her six-year term as a Member of the Competition Council.
