THE 2023 ANNUAL REPORT OF THE COMPETITION COUNCIL WAS PRESENTED
Chairwoman of the Competition Council, Jolanta Ivanauskienė, presenting the 2023 Annual Report at an interinstitutional meeting in the Government this week, overviewed the main results achieved by the institution in the past year and answered questions.

On 6–9 September experts from the Armenian Competition Protection Commission participated in a study visit to the Lithuanian competition authority Konkurencijos taryba, as well as to other institutions, and got acquainted with their activities and practice of international cooperation.

Having conducted the annual impact assessment of its activities, the Lithuanian competition authority Konkurencijos taryba calculated that direct expected benefits to consumers over the period of 2019–2021 amounted to an average of EUR 15.6 million per year and exceeded the authority’s annual budget 6.2 times.

On February 28 the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (Court) upheld the Competition Council’s decision of 10 December 2015 whereby UAB Mediashop (Company) was fined EUR 2 244 for misleading advertising.

The Competition Council brings real benefits to consumers – after its intervention the Austrian online store www.ecco-verde.com restored the shipping of cosmetic products to Lithuania.
