AB ALITA AUTHORISED TO ACQUIRE UAB DAIVALDA

In its meeting the Competition Council examined the application filed by AB Alita requesting the authorisation for the concentration deal by acquiring a 100 % holding of UAB Daivalda the main activities whereof is the wholesale and retail trading in alcoholic beverages. Having established that the intended concentration deal will not create or strengthen the dominant position in the relevant market the Competition Council authorised the transaction in accordance with the submitted notification. UAB Daivalda owns the majority of the shares of UAB Vilkmergės alus.

As stated by the applicant AB Alita the purpose of the concentration being executed is to expand the activities of the company in Lithuania, seeking to increase the variety of the products offered and identify new market niches with a view to meeting the growing demands of the consumers.
