COMPETITION COUNCIL ALLOWS AB ŽIA VALDA TO ACQUIRE SOLE CONTROL OF AB PUNTUKAS

On 23 September the Competition Council (KT) cleared acquisition of 100 per cent of AB Puntukas shares by AB ŽIA valda. Hence, the latter company acquired sole control of AB Puntukas.

AB ŽIA valda is an investment company.

AB Puntukas is engaged in the production and maintenance of wheelchairs and other compensatory technologies for the disabled people. The company sells funiculars and other equipment to help people with limited mobility to move, the company also sells medical equipment and metal products, rents premises and provides catering services.

Having evaluated all the circumstances related to the merger, the KT acknowledged that the intended merger will not create or strengthen the dominant position, or significantly restrict competition in the relevant markets.
