Competition Council found that Cherry Media LT published three misleading perfume ads and, thus, breached Article 5 of the Law on Advertising.

According to the Council‘s experts, reference prices for the perfumes Lacoste Pour Femme EDP 50 ml, Lacoste Pour Femme EDP 90 ml and Lacoste Eau de Lacoste Sensuelle EDP 90 ml, published on the company‘s deal website created a false impression of substantially reduced prices. The ads aroused false expectations of perfume being significantly cheaper compared to other online shops. Meanwhile, in many cases perfumes at reduced prices offered by Cherry Media LT were more expensive than the ones offered by other online shops.

Having taken into consideration all the circumstances and the fact that Cherry Media LT had breached Article 5 of the Law on advertising for the second time in one year, the Council imposed a fine of 17,522 euros.
