COMPETITION COUNCIL CLEARS ACQUISITION OF AB AMILINA SHARES BY ROQUETTE FRERES
On 23 September, the Competition Council (KT) cleared acquisition of 8.16 per cent of AB Amilina shares by Roquette Freres (all the company‘s shares together with already owned ones will amount to 53.676 per cent). Hence, Roquette Freres acquired sole control of AB Amilina.
Roquette Freres produces and sells starch and starch-derived products.
AB Amilina produces and sells corn starch and corn starch-derived products.
Parties to the merger indicated that when implementing the merger they assume non-competition obligations.
Having evaluated all the circumstances related to the merger, the KT acknowledged that the intended merger will not create or strengthen the dominant position, or significantly restrict competition in the relevant markets.
