COMPETITION COUNCIL CLEARS ACQUISITION OF UAB WEST TRUCKS BY UAB ARIJUS

On March 18, the Competition Council (the KT) cleared acquisition of 100 per cent UAB West Trucks shares by UAB Arijus.

UAB Arijus provides the services of ship agency and shipping line agency. The company is engaged in forwarding cargoes and containers by ships, railways, road and air transport as well as transportation of cargoes by road transport.

UAB West Trucks is engaged in cargo transportation by road transport, rent of lorries and retail trade of cars.

Having evaluated all the circumstances related to the merger, the KT acknowledged that the intended merger will not create or strengthen the dominant position, or significantly restrict competition in the relevant markets.
