COMPETITION COUNCIL OPENS INVESTIGATION INTO MISLEADING ADVERTISING BY JSC ELECTRONIC TRADE
On 2 September, the Competition Council (KT) opened an investigation into a suspected misleading advertising by JSC Electronic Trade.
KT’s experts drew attention to the advertisements on the website and in the e-newsletter wherein one of the two sales prices indicated alongside the product was crossed out. According to the explanation provided on the website, the crossed-out sales price corresponds to the former or the market price of the product.
The company had provided arguments to justify the crossed out prices, however, the KT was not convinced.
Having evaluated all the information, the KT opened an investigation on suspicion of misleading advertising by JSC Electronic Trade.
Opening of an investigation means that there are reasonable grounds to suspect an infringement; however, it does not mean that such an infringement exists.
