COMPETITION COUNCIL WILL NOT INVESTIGATE AB ORLEN LIETUVA ACTIONS WITHIN THE MARKET OF MARKED DIESEL FUEL

03 10 2014

Competition Council (KT) refused to open an investigation into the company’s AB ORLEN Lietuva possible abuse of dominance within the market of marked diesel fuel.

Having carried out a preliminary assessment of the complaint from the Association of Lithuanian Oil Product Trade Enterprises (Association), the KT‘s experts found that:

- some other companies sell more of marked diesel fuel than AB ORLEN Lietuva;

- nine companies, excluding AB ORLEN Lietuva, mark and sell diesel fuel in Lithuania;

- in 2013 the amount of marked diesel fuel sold by the members of the Association has increased.

Having taken into consideration all the circumstances, the KT had no grounds to suspect that AB ORLEN Lietuva abused its dominant position within the market of marked diesel fuel.
