COMPETITION COUNCIL WILL SHARE ITS EXPERTISE WITH EGYPTIAN COMPETITION AUTHORITY
On 4 April, the Ministry of International Cooperation (Egypt) announced that the consortium of German and Lithuanian competition authorities had been selected to implement EU Twinning project on building the capacity of Egyptian Competition Authority.
The Competition Council (KT) will implement the project in partnership with German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Egyptian competition authority will have an opportunity to learn about internationally recognised German system of competition enforcement and Lithuanian transitional experience, i.e. establishing a legal basis for the regulation of competition environment and creating a competition authority.
It is already the second EU Twinning project that the KT will be implementing together with German partners: a two year long Twinning Project “Strengthening the Enforcement of Competition and State Aid Legislation in Armenia” was successfully completed in 2013.
