CONCENTRATION AUTHORISATIONS TO FOREIGN AND LITHUANIAN COMPANIES
The Competition Council in its meeting examined the application filed by the relevant undertakings and passed the appropriate decisions.
1. The Competition Council passed the resolution to authorise Kaučuk A.S. and Unipetrol A.S. companies registered in the Czech Republic to implement concentration by creating a new entity in accordance with the submitted notification. The decision was taken having examined the notification that led to a conclusion that the intended concentration will not result on a creation or strengthening of a dominant position or any significant lessening of competition in the relevant markets. The controlling interest of Unipetrol A.S. is managed by PKN Orlen S.A. that is also the manager of AB Mažeikių nafta. As indicated in the concentration notification the newly created public company will be registered in the Czech Republic and the principal purpose of the concentration deal is for Kaučuk A.S. and Unipetrol A.S. to incorporate a joint venture operating a new chemical product, such as butadien production facility in the Czech Republic. The activities of all the companies related are in one way or another related to the chemistry sector.
2. The Competition Council authorised a London-based holding company Inchcape Corporate Services Limited to implement concentration by acquiring the entire interest of UAB Autovista, UAB Vilniaus Vista, UAB Vytaras and UAB Autovytaras in accordance with the submitted notification. The competition authority resolved that the intended concentration will not result in a creation or strengthening of a dominant position or any significant lessening of competition in the relevant markets. The notification indicated that the intended concentration is in line with the strategy pursued by the Inchcape group of expansion to the growing markets.
3. The decision was passed by the Competition Council to authorise UAB Turto valdymo strategija to implement a concentration deal by acquiring 80.02 percent of the shares of the life insurance private company Bonum Publicum in accordance with the submitted notification. As claimed by the participants of the concentration, following the deal notified the activity of UAB Bonum Publicum will be continued while the customers will be offered an even wider range of long-term saving and life insurance services.
