EUROPEAN COMPETITION DAY IN LITHUANIA

On 3 October 2013, the Competition Council (Konkurencijos taryba, KT) organises European Competition Day which is a traditional conference run every six months by each Presidency of the EU Council. The European Competition Day serves as a platform to exchange experience on competition law enforcement and competition policy developments for members of competition authorities, government representatives, national and the EU courts as well as business and academic communities.

Experts of competition law and economy from the entire EU will discuss the issues related to the independence of national competition authorities, high pricing in the relevant markets and private actions for antitrust damages (the directive on the latter is being considered at the meetings of the EC Council’s Working Party on Competition during the Lithuanian Presidency).
