EUROPEAN COMPETITION DAY – NEWS AND THE MOST INTERESTING EXPERIENCES ON COMPETITION LAW ENFORCEMENT AND COMPETITION POLICY DEVELOPMENTS

On 3 October 2013, the Competition Council (Konkurencijos taryba, KT) organises European Competition Day conference in Šarūnas Hotel, Vilnius. During the conference experts of competition law and economy from the entire EU will discuss the issues related to the independence of national competition authorities, high pricing in the relevant markets and private actions for antitrust damages. Among the speakers of the conference – Vice President and Commissioner for Competition, Joaquin Almunia, representatives of the Microsoft Corporation, leaders of Belgian, French, Netherlands and Swedish competition authorities as well as competition law practitioners and academics.

European Competition Day is a traditional conference run every six months by each Presidency of the EU Council. The event serves as a platform to exchange experience on competition law enforcement and competition policy developments for members of competition authorities, government representatives, national and the EU courts as well as business and academic communities.
