I. URMONAITĖ HAS BEEN APPOINTED DEPUTY CHAIRWOMAN OF LITHUANIAN COMPETITION AUTHORITY
Irma Urmonaitė, Council Member of the Lithuanian competition authority, has been appointed Deputy Chairwoman starting from 20 September.
"Irma has a comprehensive educational background and diverse professional experience in Lithuania, the United Kingdom and the Court of Justice of the European Union. Through her individual work and leading the team responsible for investigating anti-competitive agreements, Irma has gained authority not only in our institution, but also at international level. These qualities go perfectly together with her responsibilities as Deputy Chairwoman of Konkurencijos taryba, and I am glad that Irma accepted this new commitment", said Šarūnas Keserauskas, Chairman of Konkurencijos taryba.
The Law on Competition stipulates that the competition authority’s head appoints two Deputy Chairpersons. Elonas Šatas has been appointed as Deputy Chairman of Konkurencijos taryba since 2017.
I. Urmonaitė has replaced the former Deputy Chairwoman Ms Dina Lurje who had left the authority in June.
