J. IVANAUSKIENĖ WILL LEAVE HER ROLE AS LITHUANIAN COMPETITION AUTHORITY‘S COUNCIL MEMBER
On September 15 Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania, signed a decree whereby on September 30 Jolanta Ivanauskienė will leave her role as a Council Member of the Lithuanian competition authority Konkurencijos taryba, a decision made of her own free will.
J. Ivanauskienė was appointed a Council Member of Konkurencijos taryba for the tenure of six years starting on 3 September 2013. Prior to this promotion, J. Ivanauskienė worked in the Law and Competition Policy Division, since 2010 she was Head of Anti-competitive Agreements Investigation Division.
On 27 August this year J. Ivanauskienė passed an open competition procedure organised by the Civil Service Department for the position of a Chief Adviser of Konkurencijos taryba, which she will occupy from October 1 and will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of the authority‘s investigations.
From October 1 the Competition Council will consist of the Chairman Šarūnas Keserauskas and the Council Members Dina Lurje, Elonas Šatas, Medeina Augustinavičienė. The Law on Competition of the Republic of Lithuania stipulates that the Chairperson and Council Members are appointed by the President of the Republic of Lithuania upon the proposal of the Prime Minister for no more than two consecutive six year terms.
