KT ALLOWS UAB MARTESA TO ACQUIRE UP TO 100 PER CENT OF UAB PONTEM SHARES

On 16 August 2013, the Competition Council (Konkurencijos taryba, KT) allowed UAB Martesa to acquire up to 100 per cent of UAB PONTEM shares.

UAB Martesa and other related undertakings in Lithuania are engaged in real estate rent and sale, provision of financial and transport services, maintenance and reconstruction of buildings and business consulting activities.

UAB PONTEM is engaged in a wholesale of food products, provision of catering and cleaning services.

Having evaluated all the circumstances related to the merger, the KT acknowledged that the intended merger will not create or strengthen the dominant position, or significantly restrict competition in the relevant markets.
