KT TERMINATES INVESTIGATION ON THE RULES OF INLAND WATERS FISHING QUOTA DISTRIBUTION

02 09 2013

The Competition Council (Konkurencijos taryba, KT) launched an investigation on the rules of inland waters fishing quota distribution, confirmed by the order of the Minister of Agriculture, under suspicion that the rules in question may not comply with the requirements of Article 4 of the Law on Competition. In the course of the investigation the KT evaluated whether the aforementioned rules create favourable competition conditions for the undertakings that obtain the quotas without having to participate in the competitive distribution procedure as opposed to those that have to compete.

Having regard to the fact that on 22 July 2013 the aforementioned order of the Minister of Agriculture was abolished, on 28 August 2013 the KT terminated the investigation.
