OECD OPENS A CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THE WORKSHOP ON REGULATORY BARRIERS TO COMPETITION IN PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

23 07 2021

The OECD Economics Department is organising jointly with the Competition Division an online workshop on Regulatory Barriers to Competition in Professional Services, which will take place on 18–19 November 2021, and invites (449.4 KB ) scholars, professional associations and other relevant policymakers and stakeholders of OECD countries to submit papers, the authors of which may be invited to present them at the workshop.

The aim of this workshop is to discuss and share experience among delegates, national regulators, professional bodies and scholars on how best to ensure that regulations strike the right balance between promoting effective competition and addressing market failures in the provision of professional services related to six professions: lawyers, notaries, accountants, civil engineers, architect and estate agents. The focus will be on reform experiences and how to measure their impact, as well as more generally on the relationship between regulation and outcomes for consumers and society as a whole.

The deadline for the submissions is 15 September 2021.
