PERMISSION TO ACQUIRE THE SHARES OF KLAIPĖDA NEWSPAPER ISSUED
In its meeting the Competition Council examined a notification filed on 19 April by UAB Survesta to authorise a concentration deal by acquiring up to 100 percent of shares of UAB „Klaipėdos“ laikraščio redakcija and passed the decision to authorise the acquisition in accordance with the submitted notification. It has been established that the intended concentration will not result in a creation or strengthening of the dominant position or any significant lessening of competition in the relevant markets.
In its notification UAB Survesta the main types of activity whereof is the business consulting and management indicated several purposes of the intended concentration. UAB Survesta has identified the economic potential in the acquisition of UAB „Klaipėdos“ laikraščio redakcija due to the increasing income from the advertising, printing services and the development of the internet newspaper. By using its expertise in the area of newspaper publication UAB Survesta has identified possibilities to develop investment in the regional press market, it also forecasts the better value of its acquisition in the future.
UAB Kauno diena is another company operating in conjunction UAB Survesta within the related undertakings in the newspaper publication market also being part of the UAB Hermis Capital group.
The Competition Council also authorised the notification by UAB Palink regarding concentration in accordance with the submitted notification by leasing commercial premises in various places of Lithuania.
Having examined the notification by UAB Saerimner the main activity whereof is the breeding and marketing of swine and piglets the Competition Council authorised the concentration by acquiring a single entity control of UAB Skabeikių agrofirma having established that the intended concentration will not result in a creation or strengthening of a dominant position or any significant restrictions of competition in the relevant swine breeding and marketing markets.
