„SBA FURNITURE GROUP“ AUTHORISED TO ACQUIRE SHARES OF „KLAIPĖDOS MEDIENA“

The session of the Competition Council examined the notification submitted by UAB SBA Furniture Group on concentration by acquiring up to 100 percent holding of AB Klaipėdos mediena and authorised the concentration in accordance with the submitted notification. It has been established that the intended concentration will not affect the degree of concentration in relevant markets, and thus will not result in the creation or strengthening of the dominance or cause any significant lessening of competition in the markets concerned.

On 23 June 2005, by its resolution the Competition Council authorised UAB SBA Furniture Group to implement concentration by acquiring a 100 percent shareholding of UAB Vakarų medienos grupė. Through this concentration transaction UAB SBA Furniture Group acquired about 40 percent shares of AB Klaipėdos mediena and applied to the Competition Council for the authorisation to increase its shareholding in Klaipėdos mediena.
