THE COMPETITION COUNCIL AUTHORISED THE CONCENTRATION TRANSACTION BY TELIASONERA AB

The Competition Council examined the notification submitted by TeliaSonera AB on the intended concentration by acquiring up to 100 percent of shares of TEO LT, AB.

The Competition Council passed the Resolution to authorise the concentration transaction by TeliaSonera AB by acquiring up to 100 percent of shares of TEO LT, AB according to the submitted notification, having concluded that the intended concentration will not result in the creation or strengthening of a dominant position or any significant restrictions of competition in the relevant markets for telecommunications services.

On 31 August 2009, the Competition Council had authorised TeliaSonera AB to perform individual concentration actions: implement a takeover bid and acquire up to 100 percent of shares of TEO LT, AB refraining from the exercise of control rights carried out by the newly acquired shares pending the authorisation of the Competition Council to implement the concentration transaction.
