THE COMPETITION COUNCIL WILL PRONOUNCE ON ITS RESOLUTION CONCERNING ACTIONS OF AB MAŽEIKIŲ NAFTA THIS THURSDAY

Following the established procedures the Competition Council examined the findings of the investigation into the compliance of actions of AB Mažeikių nafta with the requirements of the Law on Competition of the Republic of Lithuania and Article 82 of the Treaty establishing the European Community.

During the session days the Competition Council arranged hearings of the findings of specialists that have conducted the investigation, comments and statements of experts and consultants of international economic and legal firms and lawyers representing interests of AB Mažeikių nafta, also the General Director of AB Mažeikių nafta P. N. English. Participants of the session were presented comments and reasoning concerning the findings of the investigation and responses to questions of all parties of the session. Representatives of third parties, companies trading in oil products also attended the session and were given an opportunity to express their views about the findings of the investigation.

In view of the significant scope of the investigation and complexity of comments and the feedback in respect of the investigation the Competition Council, will seek, for the purpose of drawing up the resolution to duly assess the facts and circumstances pointed out by all participants of the session. The Competition Council will pronounce on its resolution on the issues considered this Thursday at 10.00 a.m.
