THERE ARE GROUNDS FOR SUSPICION THAT MOLĖTAI AND KAIŠIADORYS DISTRICT MUNICIPALITIES IMPROPERLY ORGANISED WASTE MANAGEMENT

On April 1, the Competition Council (the KT) closed two investigations on possible infringements of competition law within waste management sector:

- investigation concerning the agreement concluded between the municipal company Kaišiadorių paslaugos and Kaišiadorys district municipality. The investigation was opened on 3 April 2013, having suspected that the mentioned agreement failed to comply with the requirements of Article 4 of the Law on Competition;

- investigation concerning the decision by Molėtai district municipality to authorise UAB Molėtų švara to exploit waste management system. The investigation was opened on 28 February 2013, having suspected that such decision failed to comply with the requirements of the Law on Competition.
