UAB „EMBRIOTECHNOLOGIJŲ CENTRAS” WARNED FOR THE USE OF MISLEADING ADVERTISING STATEMENTS
The meeting of the Competition Council passed a decision whereby certain advertising claims published in the website of UAB „Embriotechnologijų centras“ were recognised to constitute misleading advertising. The advertising claims „<...> transplanted into the organism the cells do not cause the immune rejection reaction in the organism, naturalize in each case of application, stimulate vigorous processes of tissue regeneration and rejuvenation of the organism, distinctly (about 5-8 times) increases the immunity system <...>; „<...> The special stem cells transplantation essentially improve the functioning of own liver cells (metabolism) and facilitate the regeneration of liver tissue <...>“.
The Competition Council issued a warning to UAB „Embriotechnologijų centras“ for the use of misleading claims. Also the company was obligated to cease the use of the misleading advertising and to issue a corrective statement regarding this in an established manner in the Internet website of the company at: www.embryotechnologies.net
The Competition Council has initiated the investigation of the advertising claims of the company upon the request of the Ministry of Health. The investigation examined the entirety of all circumstances and the provided evidence seeking to assess the correctness of the claims used in the advertising. Having regard to the requirements of Article 5 of the Law on Advertising the Competition Council concluded that UAB „Embriotechnologijų centras“ was using misleading advertising statements.
