UAB LIETUVOS RYTAS AUTHORISED TO ACQUIRE UAB PENKTAS KANALAS

Having examined the submitted notification on intended concentration the Competition Council passed the resolution to authorise UAB Lietuvos rytas to implement the concentration deal by acquiring up to 100 percent of the shares of UAB Penktas kanalas in accordance with the submitted notification. The Competition Council stabled that the intended concentration will not result in creation or strengthening of a dominant position or any more significant lessening of competition in the relevant markets.

As indicated by the applicants in the notification, UAB Lietuvos rytas itself and through its affiliated entities is engaged in the activity of proliferation of information in printed media, internet portal, also the company is engaged in the printing and distribution of publications, advertising services provision, and the creation of TV programmes. By acquiring UAB Penktas kanalas the company seeks to take advantage of TV facilities to benefit and develop certain areas of its activities. The intended concentration deal will not change the activities of either the entity acquiring the control, or the entity whose control is being acquired.

AUTHORISATION TO ACQUIRE AND JOINTLY CONTROL AB KAUNO DUONA

The decision was passed by the Competition Council to authorise N. Dagilis, T. Sereika and UAB Leidybos praktika to implement the concentration deal by acquiring up to 100 percent of shares in AB Kauno duona and by acquiring the joint control of the company in accordance with the submitted notification.

SHARES OF McDONALD‘S TO BE ACQUIRED BY PREMIER CAPITAL

Having established that the intended concentration will not cause the creation or strengthening of any dominant position or result in weakening of competition in the relevant markets the Competition Council passed the decision to authorise Premier Capital Ltd. to implement notified concentration deal by acquiring 100 percent shares of UAB McDonald‘s Restaurants through SIA McDonald‘s Latvia in accordance with the submitted notification.
