K. KUČAIDZE STARTS HER TENURE IN LITHUANIAN COMPETITION AUTHORITY

Today Karina Kučaidze has started her six-year tenure as a Council Member in the Lithuanian competition authority. She has been appointed by Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania, in line with the Constitution, the Law on Competition and upon the proposal of the Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė.

The Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (Court) rejected the appeal by the German company Sypra  which participated in the radioactive scrap metal auction conducted by Ignalina nuclear power plant and concluded a cartel. The Court did not reduce the fine imposed on the company by the Lithuanian competition authority.
