The Competition Council found that UAB Elmis, UAB LEDEVILA and UAB Vortex Capital (Companies) concluded a collusive bidding agreement while participating in the public procurement for the purchase of construction and installation works.

On December 5, 2016 the Competition Council found that in 2014 UAB Žagarės inžinerija and UAB Rovaltra (hereinafter – Companies) concluded a collusive bidding agreement while participating in the public procurement for the purchase of machinery organised by UAB Fontas LT , and thus breached the Law on Competition.
On 15 September Vilnius Regional Administrative Court (hereinafter – Court) upheld the Competition Council‘s decision of 6 June 2016 whereby Šiauliai City Municipality (hereinafter – Municipality) restricted competition and consumer rights in the sector of passenger transportation services.

The Competition Council‘s Chairman Šarūnas Keserauskas (hereinafter – Chairman) met with Visvaldas Matijošaitis, Mayor of Kaunas City Municipality (hereinafter – Municipality), to discuss competition law issues and suggest solutions to competition problems in the Municipality.

The Competition Council (hereinafter – Council) found that UAB Nemuno vaistinė (hereinafter – Company) made false claims about 30 per cent cheaper products sold in the pharmacies of Camelia (hereinafter – Camelia ), and thus breached Article 5 of the Law on Advertising.

On 29 August Vilnius Regional Administrative Court (hereinafter – Court) rejected the appeal by Panevėžys City Municipality (hereinafter – Municipality) against the Competition Council‘s decision of 16 July 2016 whereby the Municipality restricted competition and consumer rights in the municipal waste management sector.
Vilnius Regional Administrative Court (hereinafter – Court) rejected the appeal by UAB Forum Cinemas (hereinafter – Company) against the Competition Council‘s decision whereby the Company was fined EUR 1 384 300 for concluding an anti-competitive agreement.
Having evaluated the evidence on the suspected anti-competetive behavior of Lithuanian companies engaged in cement production and trade, the Competition Council (hereinafter – KT) terminated the investigation.

On December 18 Lithuanian Competition Council (KT) announced that three cinema operators, “Forum Cinemas“, “Multikino Lietuva“ and “Cinamon Operations“, had been fixing prices of cinema tickets as part of two separate cartel agreements.

Competition Council sent a statement of objections to UAB RIMI LIETUVA suspected of abusing its market power. According to the Council‘s preliminary evaluation, the regulation and use of UAB RIMI LIETUVA marketing budget contradicts fair-trade practices and restricts the possibilities for providers to negotiate the conditions of sales.
